Shark!!!

I have to tell you about the last couple of days...

Yesterday (Thursday) started off bad. When I kitted up for the first dive, two clips on my equipment broke and I ripped my wetsuit. The the first half of the dive was bad as there were so many divers in the water, you couldn't see for bubbles. The second half of the dive was better.

On the way between the first and second dive sites we saw some wild dolphins, and the captain slowed down and circled so we could watch them for about ten minutes.

The second dive of the day was FANTASTIC!! It was a drift dive where you just go with the current, and we had a 5 knot current just wizzing us along, we got to cover so much ground for zero effort, and then I just glanced away from the reef into the 'blue' and saw two silver tipped sharks just swimming by!!! (sharks are notoriously difficult to spot). Slight dissapointment after the dive when one of my hoses failed (£20 for a new one).

And then last night an excellent night dive with lots of lionfish, a stone fish and a sea snake.

Today we did one of the top dive sites in the world, Shark and Yolanda Reefs. Everyone will tell you that, despite the name, you never see sharks there.... Well not today!!!!! We saw a leopard shark just sitting on the bottom. Our guide, who has over 2500 dives in Sharm, has never seen one so big or so docile, we were so priviledged... Wait for the photos to prove it!

Then to cap off the weeks diving we had another excellent drift dive where I spotted a lovely Hawksbill turtle.
