I've got a new toy!
It's a mini Digital Video Camera. It is not a full-quality camera like those that sell for £1000+, but it takes small (320x240) videos that are suitable for watching in a window on your PC, or posting to the web. It takes standard MultiMedia Cards for storage.... What more could you want in such a tiny package?
"Where did you get it from?" I hear you ask. From "I want one of those", a catalogue that advertises itself as "Stuff you don't need... But you really, really want".
Here is a quick demo I recorded outside my office at lunchtime.
P.S. The WebCam link has been removed from the page as the camera died. It should be back in a few days.
Posted at 14:39I should point out that the demo clip I recorded was taken in "low-resolution" mode.
In "high-resolution" mode the picture is much smoother as it takes more frames per second (it is the same picture size).
The low-res mode produces smaller files, which is why I chose it for uploading to the web site.
