War

This war with Iraq business really depresses me. I mean, in this day and age we shouldn't have to be reduced to this.

What frustrates me most is the blatant disregard for the United Nations. Ok, some of the objections (France and Russia) have economic rather than political backgrounds, but the purpose of the United Nations is to discuss and debate issues and come to an agreed position, NOT to ride roughshod over those who oppose your position and go and do what you want regardless!

This thing with Iraq has been goning on now for over twelve years, why does it suddenly have to be sorted in the next few days? The UN weapons inspector says they need a few more weeks or month to finish the job! Ok, I know its because the weather gets too hot if they leave it any later..... So why can't they wait until autumn? Six months extra on twelve years is a drop in the ocean!

As for Tony Blair likening doing nothing to Neville Chamberlain appeasing Hitler at Munich, please don't insult my itelligence!!!!! The current situation is NOTHING like 1939, why do you think we have weapons inspectors Mr Blair??

Tony Blair also says he doen't have any moral issues with going to war without an explicit Security Council resolution.... So we have a country with weapons of mass destruction, ignoring the United Nations Security Council going to attack Iraq...... And he doesn't have any moral issues? I say he doesn't have any morals!!

Another point the politicians make is that Iraq is not a democracy, well if our leaders consistently ignore the will of the people, we are no longer a democracy!

Ok, I know I may have over simplified the situation, but I feel I need to have my say!
